sketch challenge #17

here is a card that i made for beate's weekend sketch challenge! it's so much cuter in real life...the colors are sahara sand, wild wasabi, soft sky and very vanilla...they didn't show through like i wanted them to in the picture. oh well, you get the gist...i made some more samples of this sketch, so i will post those over the next couple of days...i LOVED this sketch...very simple, but very cute!

chatterbox

good morning! it is a nice day here today...cloudy and a bit cooler than the 90+ temperatures that we have been having! i think the kids and i will actually be able to play outside today! good, i need to get these monkeys out...they are like caged animals when it's so hot that we don't go anywhere!!
here is a card i made using the last of my favorite chatterbox paper...i got this almost a year ago...one sheet of it, and i have been using small bits here are there on different cards...i just loved it so much, that i didn't want to use it all in one place! but now, sadly, it's gone! i used sahara sand, bashful blue, whisper white and really rust cs. white grosgrain ribbon and my oval punch. i cut the scallop's with my scallop scissors! and i notched the corners in with my small circle punch...i just punch half of the circle on the corners and it gives it that ticket punch corner...pretty resourceful!
have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
oh yah, i finally figured out feedblitz...you can subscribe to my blog below!
take care :)

late night

hey! wow...today has been an exhausting day!! my husband and i got to go see Dave Matthews Band in concert last night! my best friend was able to get us seats in about the 20th row!!! it was so stinking exciting! i used to go to his concerts when i was in high school and my first year of college...a girl that i was best friends with in high school and i would travel around the country, specifically to see DMB in concert...it was a blast...but i hadn't seen him in about 6 years! but when he walked out on stage...all that excitement came right back...i felt like i was in high school again!! AND, guess who was sitting in the same row as me...about 10 seats down?? yup, my best friend from high school...the same girl that i traveled with all over the country to see him play!! isn't that crazy?? we haven't seen each other for about 2 years, and i looked over last night, and there she was, jamming to Dave...i ran over there and we both freaked out! it was so much fun to have her there! it brought back tons and tons of fun memories...all in all, we saw dave about 15 times in about a 4 year period...we were what you call "dave-heads!" nerds, yes, i know!
so, that was my exciting night...but of course, we didn't get home until super later, and all 3 of our kiddos decided to not sleep well last night...doesn't that always happen?? so, my 3 year old is super cranky today and he's being super mischievous...gotta love those 3 year olds...i decided to occupy them so i could lay on the couch for about 30 minutes, to "rest my eyes"...so, i turned a movie on, gave them snacks and crayons and coloring books...and of course, when i'm done resting, i awake to my 3 year old coloring on everything but his coloring book...he knows better than that, which is why i was fine giving them crayons in the first place...ahhhhh! let's just say that we won't be coloring for a very long time in the anderson household!
well, okay, so that is my day thus far...it should get better...i'm about to go take a nap, for real this time! here is a card i was able to make the other night...for a friend's baby shower gift. i am loving the notched corners on the paper these days...i think i stole that idea from beate's site.
okay all, have a great day! thanks for stopping by!!

save the date

good morning! this card is a save the date card that i made for a friend. she was wanting some samples made, and this was one of them...i just looooove that flower! and seriously, how awesome are these colors together? these are her wedding colors...hot pink, orange and chocolate...how stinkin' cute?! now, don't get me wrong, i loved everything about my wedding, but it would be fun to plan it again...there would be so many things i would do different! i only got married 5 years ago, but so much has changed in the wedding industry since then...it will never stop changing!
well, i hope to get to my craft dungeon today and work on some goodies...wish me luck! have a great tuesday! thanks for stopping by!

here are my 3 peas, on milo's one month bday! i can hardly believe he is already one month old...where does time go?? okay, so now that he is a month, i'm ready for him to start stretching his feeding schedule out at night...the boy still eats every 2 hours! ahhhh! can you say NO SLEEP?? my other kids did not do that, so this is hard for me to take in :)
well, i'm off to get ready for a dinner at church tonight...have a great evening! thanks for stopping by!
oh yah...if anyone can tell me how i can get something on my blog so people can subscribe to it, can you leave me a comment? thanks!

stem silhouette's again

my husband and i got to go on a date last night...kid free!!! it was so exciting! we went and ate at cinzetti's (if you don't have one of these, it's like the best italian buffet ever!). we sat at the restaurant for at least 2 hours, talking and going back for more and more food! it was so much fun and so nice to spend some good quality time with him!
okay, so onto my card...here is another one of my creations from the other night...it works perfectly for the sketch design on the artistic avenger blog as well! i did change a bit by switching where the image is, but i think it still works for the sketch!
i really am loving this new set from the mini! here are the supplies used:
soft sky, blue bayou, chocolate chip, sahara sand and very vanilla cardstock
chocolate chip and soft sky ink
chocolate su! marker, chocolate 5/8" grosgrain ribbon
i didn't do any paper piercing for the stitching...i just used the marker and it seemed to achieve the look i was going for!
thanks for stopping by...have a great day and a great weekend!

stem silhouettes

i was able to sit down last night and crank out 5 cards! that is a lot for me these days! and now i have something to post everyday for the next 5 days! here was my first creation...i am LOVING stem silhouettes from the new holiday mini...and even better is that they were die-cut! i hope su! changes this for all the stamp sets...it is so much easier! i also really like the new taffeta ribbon...this card used the chocolate taffeta...it's so pretty in real life, and i like it because it's a different shade of brown, so you can use it on brown, and it stands out.
well, gotta run...hopefully i get a nap in today, as i did not get any sleep last night! mr. milo was up most of the night...ahhhhh, i need sleep!!! AND, wish me luck as i have to run to Michael's with all three kiddos! what a nightmare!
have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

a scrapbook page

this was a layout (only 1/2 of the layout) that i got completed at a crop the other night...it was a lot of fun and nice to finally get to catch up on some much needed scrapbooking. i got to use all of my "love, elsie" products on this page...i just love her stuff! if you haven't seen any of her scrapbooking products, check them out...they are awesome!
this was caedmon's "kid's day out" class. he had a blast in it this past year...can't wait for it to start up again! only a few more weeks till it begins, and this time around, caedmon and hadley are both in it! yah!
have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

scallops

i just have to say that i am obsessed with anything scallop-edge these days! i think that most crafters are, thanks to the awesome marvy uchida punches...i am not so fortunate to have all those punches (i have the giga scallop circle), so i use my cheap scallop scissors, that i dug out of my kids craft box...who knew i would want to use those decorative scissors again one day?! so, everything scallop on this card was done with my scissors!
enjoy your day!

surfer girl

hey all! this is a birth announcement that i made for a customer of mine...her new baby's room is themed "surfer girl", so i used the "do the hula" set...i gave her a couple samples and this is the one she picked out. the picture is not her new baby girl...it's my daughter when she was born...i needed a picture to put on it, and so i used one from a left over hadley birth announcement! okay, have a great day!

so kind

hey everyone! this is a card i made for a girlfriend of mine...i had everything done, and then of course stamped the sentiment crooked AGAIN! i hate when i do that...so i tilted the main image, to off-set the crookedness...hopefully that covers it up a bit!
supplies used: sahara sand, bashful blue, whisper white cs
really rust, chocolate chip ink
chatterbox dsp
circle punches, rhinestone brads, faux stitching
have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

butterfly

i bought a gift for my best friend yesterday, at this cute little store here called "serendipity accents"...it's in this old restored house, and holds every cute trinket or treasure you could possibly find! well, i bought her these 3 different shaped mirrors, that hang with ribbon, and they wrapped them for me, using the cutest brown bag and turquoise and brown, butterfly tissue paper...of course, i had to make a card that matched! and "reason to smile" matches perfectly! how fun! the center of the butterfly has 3 rhinestone brads...i'm not so sure how i feel about those brads...i don't like how they don't lay flat on the card...anyone else feel the same way? all right, well i am off to place an su! order...yahhh!!
have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

3 peas in a pod!

FINALLY! i was finally able to get a picture of all 3 of my kiddos...caedmon is on the left, that's little milo in the middle and then my daughter, hadley, on the right. i am so thrilled to finally have a picture of all of them together...caedmon has been a pill lately, and doesn't EVER want his picture taken, so it makes it a little hard when trying to get them to all sit still and take a pic. (well milo is easy, but the other 2 are a challenge :) )
thanks for stopping by!

crooked

doesn't it just drive you crazy when you make a card and then the final thing you do (in this case, the sentiment) is crooked, or messes up?? ahhh, it drives me crazy!! i was so bummed when i stamped "time to party" and it was crooked! now, this card is for a child, so it's not that big of a deal, but i thought to myself "i know i lined that up perfectly..." sure enough, i looked at the cheap-o stamp and it's not on the wood block straight. i guess that is what i get for buying $1 stamps at michaels!! (but those $1 stamps are soooo cute!!) well, i have the morning off from my 2 older children, so i hope to get downstairs to the dungeon and work on some stamping! my little milo man is clingy today though, so i don't know if that will happen...i've never stamped with one hand before, but i'm sure it's hard! have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!

on your mark...

this is a layout i finished for our family album 2007...i am currently working on like 3 family albums (2005, 6 and 7)...i just skip around and work on whichever year i feel like...which is nice! i had a goal of being completely done with 2005 and 2006 by the time milo made it here, but he was 4 weeks early, so it kind of threw my plans off! this page was an easter egg hunt we had with the kids in california. the picture with all the kids is one with keith's side of the family...there are 9 kids under the age of 5 right now. at the end of october, there will be 10!! lots and lots of chaos as you can imagine...but it's always so much fun to go out there and visit and let the kids hang out with their cousins. have a great day...thanks for stopping by!

6 x 6 brag book

i am working on a 6 x 6 brag album for a customer of mine. it is for her daughter's bachelorette party...they requested all reds and pinks, which i'm so not used to working with...i always tend to stick with the greens and browns, so this has been quite fun to step outside what i'm used to doing, and make these pages really "girly!" hope you like them! have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
