the most random layout ever.

i joined in over at the dare blog. the dare was to create a page using an old photo of you and decide if it's "hot or not". okay, this was fun! first of all, it was fun to look through old photos. second of all, it was fun to scrap an old photo. so much that i pulled quite a few of good, old photos of keith and i when we were kids, and i'm going to scrap them. i'm going to do very simple pages like this one. this is 8 1/2 x 11. i love this size. this is my first layout at this size. it's fun. and i don't feel quite as bad leaving so much space on it, cause it's smaller :) anyways, i thought that our kids would love to look at a book filled with pics of keith and i as kids. especially when they get older! i always love seeing pictures of my parents when they were kiddos. it's fun. anywho...i used my trusty old toilet paper roll on this one. dabbed the end in paint and made the circles with it. also, did some stitching. and i typed my journaling. i've officially decided that i'm a journaler typer. i know, i know...some people think that's awful, cause you're generations won't see "your" handwriting. but, yes they will. i plan on writing in each of my family albums...at least on one page...maybe a letter to my kids, or something. but there will at least be one page with my handwriting on it, so the kids can see it. i just think that typing looks so much nicer...and not to mention, i usually write soooo much more (not in this case). well friends...i'm off...have an amazing weekend! yippee for friday.

milo. bumbo.

when i did this post on my family blog i knew that i wanted to make it a page. it was so funny to me...and i love these pictures of milo. i took some of the pictures out, cause i wasn't going to have room for all of them...so, i had to do some re-organizing with the sequence of the photos, but, i think it still turned out pretty funny :) here is each page...up close.

the flower embellishments are from su! flower fusion...i love those! i stick them on most of my projects these days!
all right girls...have a fab day!

c.

friends of ours had us over for easter lunch on sunday...it was so nice of them...especially since we don't have family here. so, i made her a little hostess gift...their last name begins with a 'C' so i made this little door hanger for her. it's about 5 x 7 in size. anyways...super simple...but i like how it turned out!
have a great night!

before and after

a quick page for milo's album. just about his love for his pacifier (or "pucky" as we like to call it in our house). don't ask me how it got that name...cause i just don't know.
i don't know where half of this stuff came from, otherwise i'd give you the recipe for it :) but the scallop cs is mounted on an su! very vanilla cardstock. and i sewed on it! i'm finally getting the hang of sewing on my pages...well, i finally read my manual...so, that does help to understand what all those knobby things do :)
have a great day!

a 2-pager!

it's been a while since you've seen me do one of these, eh? i've been so into doing one page layouts lately...but, i knew that this one had to be 2 pages, cause i had sooo many pictures that i wanted on there! well, i narrowed them down to my faves...i like these pages. they are very simple...but, they tell the story! that's the most important part, right?
anyways...gotta run...the hubs will be home soon!

easter banner

okay, so this is super simple...and turned out pretty cute...of course, it's a lot cuter in person, but you can get the general feel of it. this is hanging over our living room window. it's the size of a marvy uchida scallop giga. anyways, i just used some fun making memories letters and some su! paper...it was fun...and now i have a little bit of easter cheer in my house!
thanks for stopping by!

baby gager

our good friends had a baby (almost a month ago-already!?) anywho, i had already gotten them a gift, but wanted to make the little bambino a personalized something...so, i did this...stamped his initial on the front (i used brown staz-on ink)...

then on the back of the shirt, i stamped out his name...it's SUPER plain and simple, but i think he'll look so cute in it!

here's the finished product...all packaged...cause it's all about the packaging :)

have a marvelous day! it's friday!!

chaos.

i've always loved this picture. chaos is the only good word to describe it, so i definitely wanted that to be the title of this one. the journaling reads: nothing describes this picture better than the word chaos. this was just a few short days after we brought milo home from the hospital. he started crying so hadley decided to join him and then caedmon...well, we're not sure what caedmon was doing in this picture, but it looks like...chaos.
i used some free fonts off of the internet to write out the journaling.
here's the recipe for this lo:
paper: american crafts
cardstock: su!
arrows: technique tuesday
thickers: american crafts
paint: random from the craft store

hope you like! have a good day...kansans...enjoy the amazing weather...i saw that we are at the same temp today!!

my new favorite layout

okay, this is my new favorite layout...for real. my good friend (and great scrapbooker) allyson has a page like this in her son's album, titled "well nourished"...ever since i saw it, i've been wanting to steal that title! finally, i got some good shots of milo and his chubby self, so the title went great with it!! i really do love everything about this...it's so simple.
so, yah, thanks allyson for the inspiration!! you rock!
have a great day!

fathers day

for fathers day this year, we had the kids hold up signs...and then we framed the pictures for our dads...amazingly, we got some good shots of the kids together, so i, of course, wanted to scrap them. i also submitted this layout to create my keepsakes, april guest designer. they wanted you to use flower paper and flowers, on your layout. all right...toodles.

{time} to move forward.

feels good to be back in the scrapping groove! i got some pictures in from winkflash yesterday, so i have plenty to keep me going! here is a layout i did for "one little word." the word this week is "time." so, this is my take on it.

here's an up close shot of the title, cause it's kind of faint on the big picture...

this layout is just about our big move across the country. and how i didn't want it to be time to go, but inevitably, the day came. and it was time to move forward with our life. i think you can click on the picture and it will enlarge it if you want to read the journaling...i typed it with a new free font from CK...ali edwards' font. all right...thanks for looking!
